Yes, for many states.  Our GoRescue EMS Academy’s EMT Course graduates are eligible to sit for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician’s (NREMT) Exam.  Successful completion of this exam results in the candidates being certified by NREMT as an EMT.  Next, the candidate will apply for state-specific licensure in the state(s) of his or her choosing.  Find out more here:  https://www.nremt.org/maps and learn about the NREMT EMS Compact here:  https://www.nremt.org/Document/replica

We are conveniently located just off Interstate 65 in the Birmingham metro area suburb of Homewood, AL.  The GoRescue EMS Academy is located at 211 Summit Parkway, Suite #100, Birmingham, AL 35209.  We have approximately 6,300 square fee of state-of-the-art classroom, skills labs, conference, office, and warehouse space to support our EMT classes and students.  Our Training Center is very close to some great restaurants, hotels, and only 15 minutes away from the Birmingham International Airport (BHM).

No – meals are the responsibility of each student and not included in our flat-rate tuition.  However, GoRescue EMS Academy provides snacks, bottled water, and some refreshments throughout the day at no cost to our students.  Plenty of great restaurants are located nearby and meal delivery services are available.  

GoRescue EMS Academy’s EMT classes are limited to twelve (12) students to ensure excellent student-to-instructor ratios, great learning experiences, and plenty of time to interact with our students to build their EMT knowledge and skills.  

Great question!  We know learning new material is different for everyone, so GoRescue EMS Academy’s seasoned EMT Instructors are able to provide individualized learning assistance, recommendations for study habits, and additional teaching resources as needed to promote student success and knowledge retention.  

We understand life happens.  Due to the preparations involved and costs incurred before class, registrations and tuition for our Accelerated EMT Courses are non-refundable.  However, registrations and tuition can be transferred to an upcoming course or to another student.

Yes – all of our EMT Instructors have at least three (3) years of service as licensed and certified EMS providers as well as proven instructional experience with students.  Many of our EMT Instructors hold advanced licenses, education, and training such as Paramedic, masters degrees, advanced scopes of practice, and other national-level certifications.  

The Department of Veterans Affairs can reimburse up to to $80 of the NREMT Exam Fee to become certified as an EMT once graduating from the GoRescue EMS Academy’s EMT Course.  https://inquiry.vba.va.gov/weamspub/buildViewLCTest.do  Currently, the GoRescue EMS Academy is not yet approved for using GI Bill benefits.  All veterans can receive a 10% discount on our flat-rate tuition (not valid with any other offer, discount, or deal).

Yes – GoRescue EMS Academy offers scholarships up to $250 to cover tuition. Email EMS@GoRescue.com for more information.  Additionally, all veterans can receive a 10% discount on our flat-rate tuition (not valid with any other offer, discount, or deal).  We also offer payment plans and accept purchase orders.  

Our students receive an EMS Academy introductory email containing everything they need to know, bring, and prepare to be successful in our Accelerated EMT Program – whether it’s the 16-Day or 30-Day program.
