Bio
A paramedic for 23 years, Duane Whatley has worked in EMS from the beaches of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach to the hills and backroads of Blount County. He found his passion for helping others while still in high school, volunteering at Warrior Fire Department. Later, after moving to Kimberly, AL, he joined the volunteer fire dept. there and was promoted to EMS Lieutenant. He also served on the city council, with an emphasis on economic development and public safety. Duane has several years of experience teaching BLS, ACLS, PALS, and EVOC. He also works for NASCAR as an on-track medic at the spring and fall races at Talladega Superspeedway. Duane lives in Kimberly with his wife Erika and daughters Kaley and Olivia. They attend Move Church in Warrior, AL.
