Birmingham, AL – GoRescue Brands, Inc., is excited to announce the promotion of Tim Honeycutt to the role of EMS Academy Coordinator for the GoRescue EMS Academy!
After a comprehensive regional search that included qualified internal and external candidates for this position, GoRescue selected Tim Honeycutt based on his proven leadership, passion for our purpose, and respect by our team.
Tim brings an entire career of experience in public safety, fire service, and EMS to this position as he focused on the daily oversight, coordination, and success of our GoRescue EMS Academy. Managing the student experience, staffing our 16-Day and 30-Day Accelerated EMT Classes, and ensuring we achieve our vision and commitment to student success are just some of the duties Tim will execute as EMS Academy Coordinator. Â
In 1992 Tim began his service in public safety as a volunteer firefighter for the Chelsea Volunteer Fire Department. He has served as a Public Safety Telecommunicator, head of a Water Rescue Program, and was promoted to the rank of Captain and Battalion Chief. In May of 2017 he achieved his ultimate career goal and was promoted to the rank of Fire Chief for the City of Pelham.Â

Throughout his career he has completed over 30 certifications on the state level and has completed training at 10 different locations on the national level. Tim is the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the National Center for Fire and Life Safety, a board member for the Alabama Community Risk Reduction Coalition, the National First Responder Institute and the Planning and Zoning Board of the City of Helena.Â
Tim retired as Fire Chief from the Pelham Fire Department in 2020, and after enjoying a 2-day retirement, joined GoRescue’s team as the Business Manager. Â
